Voice chat

MECCHA CHAMELEON mic and push-to-talk guide.

Use this page for microphone, push-to-talk, voice chat, streamer rooms, and friend-lobby communication checks before a multiplayer session.

Check voice setup before the room fills

MECCHA CHAMELEON is easier to enjoy when players can coordinate without confusing the match. If your group uses a microphone, push to talk, Steam voice, Discord, or another voice app, test it before a public room or streamer lobby starts.

This guide does not assume one official voice setup for every player. Instead, it focuses on practical checks: input device, push-to-talk behavior, background noise, and whether your communication gives away a Hider too easily.

Voice question What to check Why it matters
Mic not working Steam, system input, and the voice app your group uses. Room setup should not wait on basic audio selection.
Push to talk Confirm the key does not conflict with movement or pose controls. A bad keybind can reveal a Hider or interrupt scanning.
Streamer rooms Set rules for voice, spectators, and callouts before starting. Clear rules avoid accidental spoilers and unfair hints.

Voice etiquette for hide-and-seek

Voice chat can make MECCHA CHAMELEON funnier, but it can also ruin a round if players call out hidden positions. Agree on whether Hiders can talk while hiding, whether eliminated players can give hints, and whether the Seeker can ask questions during the scan.

When audio problems look like room problems

If players cannot hear each other and also cannot join rooms, separate the issues. Use the connection error guide for version and lobby checks, then return to microphone settings after everyone can join the same session.
